Boulder River Trek

I got brave this week, I was certain I could handle it, cause how many other moms do this on a daily basis...I can so take 4 kids hiking by myself!
I survived, I wont lie, I yelled...a lot! A few spankings, a few kids, mine, wouldn't listen so they felt the wrath of mom. They finally decided that the last 15 minutes of the 4 hour walk was the best time to listen.
We had a blast and can't wait to go back again, Boulder River Trail was awesome. The ride there and back was even more fun, a 5 mile drive of dirt roads filled with potholes, that was probably the kids favorite part and the husbands least favorite part...he'll come home to a van that's been scratched and needs an alignment oh so baldy.
This was the first time he ever had to sign in to walk a trail, he was pretty excited and curious as to why!

We of course had to get some action photos in. Logan had such a blast hiking, climbing and jumping through to forest.

Jake had a blast just sitting at the waters edge and throwing rocks!

These kids had a blast and then some. They were troopers and survived hiking and playing for about 4 hours. Thankful they made it out happy and wanting to go do it again!

I'm beyond proud of myself, I was debating going down to the waterfall, the short trek to actually get to it was a tad wild. It's great without 3 kids that need help, but with them I was certain we'd need a hospital visit. We all got down okay and then the 3 big kids hiked up all by themselves!
They were so awesome and they loved every moment of it.

We found some neat slugs, at first we thought it was dog poop then we discovered that must be their camouflage!

Ruby felt she needed a nap and that this tree was the most comfortable spot she could find.

This was such a neat tree, it had grown over and around a giant rock!

Looking up from the tree was even more neat!

The perfect picture to end our fabulous adventure!
